Silverleaf Penthouse to be Auctioned at Big Game Big Give Event

On Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at the Big Game Big Give event co-hosted by J.J. Watt and Actor Anthony Anderson, the last remaining penthouse at ICON in the prestigious Silverleaf neighborhood in Scottsdale will be going up for auction – with a starting bid of $10.5M!

In what might be an Arizona first for LIVE charity auctions – Big Game Big Give recently announced that this Bing Hu designed and inspired penthouse will be auctioned off with at least $1 million going back to the charity at the star-studded party on Saturday, February 11th.  The $1 million plus donation will go directly to The Giving Back Fund and local charities benefiting that night.

As one of the world’s most sought-after architects, both nationally and internationally, Hu is serving as the architect, and developer of ICON at Silverleaf, which offers the ultimate 24-hour guard gated high-end, elevated living experience. Icon at Silverleaf, is located behind the gates at the most prestigious private golf community in the state, Silverleaf Golf Club. Utilizing steel and concrete, Hu has masterfully designed the penthouse with 6288-square-feet inside and 7200 square-feet outside on the private roof-top terrace. It can be designed and tailored to a buyer’s taste including intricate landscaping, outdoor kitchen and bar, private swimming pool and spa and other custom amenities like a putting green, dog run and more! The residence is scheduled to be completed in 18-months.

Inside the penthouse Hu partnered with award-winning, published Interior Designer Misty Cowan who comes with nearly 30 years of experience designing luxury interiors. Cowan is bringing the highest level of design to the palatial penthouse which features interior 10” plank wood flooring, custom walnut cabinets, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, a wine cellar and bar, as well as 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, den and media room.

Membership at the highest-ranking private golf club, Silverleaf Club, is available and just a short distance from ICON at Silverleaf. The private club features a Tom Weiskopf-designed, 18-hole championship golf course that winds along 7,322 yards of inspiring terrain. The 50,000-square-foot Rural Mediterranean-style Silverleaf Clubhouse is highlighted by world-class spa facilities, pools, as well as fine and casual dining.

Hu is eager to offer his masterfully designed penthouse for this unique auction experience. “I am thrilled to be able to bring our beautiful penthouse, and all it offers, to the LIVE Auction at Big Game Big Give,” said Hu. “When we heard about this event and the benefactors, we were excited to jump in. Finding the right buyer for this one of kind penthouse was very important to us. And we are excited to be able to donate at least a $1 million back to this incredible cause. As a cancer survivor myself, I admire everything the Giving Back Fund and particularly the Vincere Foundation is doing in the area of cancer research and treatment. They are making a difference in the lives of Firefighters and First Responders.”

Big Game Big Give starts at 6 p.m. on February 11th and will be held on the 5-acre private estate of Dr. Pablo Prichard in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The Vincere Foundation is one of the charities to benefit and be honored for its life saving work in the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer in Firefighters and First Responders. Arizona’s firefighters will also be recognized at the event, and to commemorate those firefighters, a special Fire and Elements theme will be incorporated into the evening.

Recently retired NFL Star J.J. Watt, the man considered to be one of the greatest defensive linemen of all time, and the 2017 Sports Illustrated and Walter Payton Man of the Year, will co-host the party alongside Actor and Comedian Anthony Anderson. Anderson is known for his roles in numerous shows and movies including Law and Order, Kangaroo Jack, Transformers, The Proud Family, Blackish, Hoodwinked, and The Departed, to name a few.

A portion of proceeds raised at the event will also benefit the Justin J. Watt Foundation, whose mission is to provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance, while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers.

Former Phoenix Suns and LA Lakers player Cedric Ceballos will serve as the event emcee. As part of the festivities, Grammy nominated, Singer-Songwriter Gavin DeGraw, known for his chart topping, multi-platinum hits “I Don’t Want to Be”, “Chariot” and “Follow Through” will give a special performance.

Executive produced by 10 Fold Entertainment, the evening will also honor the extraordinary philanthropic record of the legendary humanitarian and NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo. He will receive The Giving Back Fund’s Annual Award for Extraordinary Philanthropic Achievement, presented by NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis. In addition to a unique piece from world renowned artist Michael Kalish, the award will be renamed in honor of Mutombo, who is currently navigating a cancer diagnosis.

Among the other special experiences for guests that night – live auction with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, unique silent auction, food stations, cocktail bars, tea experience, salt healing room, crystal art by Gaea Rare, Shiralign sound bowls, underwater art experience by Christy Lee Rogers, flaming metal art sculptures by Sean T French, fashion show honoring AZ firefighters curated by ArtxShanna, and more!

The Giving Back Fund is celebrating its 25th year. In 2015, The Giving Back Fund raised more than $1.5 million in the Valley of the Sun when Big Game Big Give was held at former MLB All-Star Matt and (Erika) Williams’ private home and hosted by Mark Wahlberg and Michael Bay.
