David J. Cronin, CPCE, CMP, is returning to once again serve as W Scottsdale‘s general manager. He previously held the role from 2017-2020.
Cronin, who has more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, including postings in Darmstadt, Frankfurt, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, and Nashville. He is known for his innovation and dedication to creating forward-thinking, one-of-a-kind experiences for guests.
“I am thrilled to return to the iconic energy and vibrancy of W Scottsdale, a place where creativity thrives and a talented team of professionals shares my passion for delivering bold and memorable experiences for our guests,” Cronin says. “I am excited to return to Scottsdale and look forward to playing a role in the hotel’s future, including forthcoming design renovations and a new B&F destination while continuing to build on its strong reputation, locally, nationally and internationally, as a must-visit destination for both leisure and business travelers.”
Cronin, has in-depth experience with the W brand, leading the W Minneapolis to achieve the 2016 Luxury Hotel of the Year for the Western Region and Luxury Hotel of the Year for Marriott and Starwood Americas in his role as complex general manger, and opening general manager at W Nashville following his initial tenure as general manager at W Scottsdale.
In Scottsdale, Cronin oversaw the property’s extensive renovations while still leading market share and ADR. His strategic leadership was instrumental in W Scottsdale’s achievement in receiving the Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Distinctive Luxury Hotel of the Year for the Western Region in 2018. His approach to hospitality and leadership has earned the properties he’s worked with numerous other awards, as well.
