Elvira’s Brings Iconic Mexican Flavors to Scottsdale With New DC Ranch Location
By Staff | December 10, 2024
Elvira’s, established in 1927 in Nogales, Mexico, has long been a family-owned institution revered for its innovative approach to traditional Mexican dishes. Under the leadership of chef Ruben Monroy, the grandson of the original founder, Elvira’s has evolved into a destination restaurant, with its Tubac location being a hallmark of excellence.
Now, the locale is bringing its celebrated flavors and rich history to Scottsdale’s DC Ranch community.
Elvira’s DC Ranch is scheduled to open on Jan. 3, 2025. It will feature signature dishes from the Tubac menu, including its iconic Chile en Nogada, a stuffed poblano pepper crowned with walnut sauce and pomegranate seeds, and its Mole Negro Oaxaqueño. There will also be dishes and cocktails crafted to celebrate Mexican cuisine’s vibrant flavors and textures. Interactive elements will include tableside preparations of select dishes.
“Our menu at Elvira’s DC Ranch is a homage to tradition while embracing innovation,” says Chris George, executive chef and COO of Kaufman Hospitality. “We want every plate to tell a story, blending authentic recipes with modern culinary techniques to deliver something truly special.”
The decor at Elvira’s in DC Ranch will incorporate handcrafted glass chandeliers, traditional artwork, and limestone sculptures, “blending the vibrancy of Mexican heritage with the elegance of the Scottsdale lifestyle,” according to representatives.
“Our goal is to create a space where guests feel transported yet at home—a celebration of culture and community,” says Tom Kaufman, owner of Kaufman Hospitality.
