Barrio Queen Happy Hour

This popular destination’s original location—Old Town Scottsdale—is still one of its most popular, and happy hour tends to draw a crowd. Barrio Queen serves authentic Mexican food in a fun destination that features Dia de los Muertos decor. This is one of several happy hours on the list that end at 6pm. Happy hour is available weekdays from 2-6 p.m. at this location (it’s daily at a few others). It includes food items such as Chicken Flautas, Elote Ribs, Potato Empanadas, and others for just $5. There are also a variety of margaritas for $5 each, select wine and drafts for $5, and specials on tequilas. Barrio Queen also offers Margarita Mondays and Taco Tuesday specials.

The Beverly Happy Hour

Even though they like to say they are “Old Town Scottsdale’s best-kept secret,” the word is out. This upscale, intimate cocktail lounge is a hip, fun place. Happy hour here is served weekdays from 4-7 p.m. Take advantage of $2 off beer bottles and seltzers, $3 off wine by the glass, and $4 off classic cocktails and the “Classic Af Cocktails.” For food, options include Truffle Fries or Sweet Potato Fries for $9 or Little Devils or Cornholio for $8.

Buck & Rider Happy Hour

Buck & Rider is known for its seafood—including its fresh fish and oysters that are flown in daily—as well as its steaks, and has a time-stamped raw bar menu. This North Scottsdale happy hour runs from 3-7 p.m. daily and is available at the oyster bar, alcove, and patio bar. Of course, oysters are on the menu ($2.50), as are wild shrimp ($3). A small bites menu offers options such as Voodoo Fried Rice and Edna’s Picnic Chicken Snack for $11, and signature cocktails are just $11.

Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila Happy Hour

For a casual, fun, and upbeat afternoon/evening, Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila hits the spot. This Old Town Scottsdale destination for tacos and top-shelf tequila is a Scottsdale happy hour mainstay, offering $7 Cien-A-Ritas, $6 select appetizers, $3 Tinga Tacos, $4 Modelo Especial and Negra Modelo beers, and $2 off any wines by the glass from 3-6 p.m. daily. Tuesdays are Taco Tuesdays, of course, with $4 Tecate beer; $3 shredded beef, tinga chicken, and diabla shrimp tacos; and $7 pineapple infused tequila shots offered all day.

Citizen Public House Happy Hour 

This award-winning restaurant by James Beard semi-finalist chef Bernie Kantak has been a staple of the Scottsdale food and beverage scene since 2011. The destination offers a daily Social Hour from 4-6 p.m. that includes numerous specials. Grab a seat at the large center bar and enjoy food options that include the cult favorite Bacon Fat Popcorn, a hefty rotating quesadilla, and Cutino Chili Crunch Wings served with a tangy buttermilk herb dressing (the same one you find on the locale’s original chopped salad). Glasses of wine are $8, and there are $10 housemade cocktails pulled icy cold on draft. Try your luck with the dealer’s choice $10 sip.

Diego Pops Happy Hour

Head to Old Town Scottsdale and this modern Mexican restaurant for a daily happy hour that runs from 3-6 p.m. The happy hour menu includes appetizers for half-price, with items including the $4.50 street corn queso, a tray of brussels sprout nachos that can feed four for $7, and grilled street corn for just $3.50. Drink specials include $2-off beers, $6 Diego Margaritas, and $6 wine and sangria. On Mondays, Diego Pops hosts Taco Mondays, where tacos are just $3 all day.

This locally owned locale, which has locations both in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale as well as North Scottsdale, is casually upscale. The menu is a mix of Italian dishes and pizzas, and drinks range from wine and beer to cocktails and spirits. A happy hour is offered from 4-6 p.m. daily, with $6 sangria, $5 well spirits, and discounts on select beers and wines.

HULA’S Modern Tiki Happy Hour

It’s tiki time! This take on a classic tiki bar/restaurant of the 1950s-1960s celebrates happy hour with $8 cocktails (Hula’s Mai Tai, Hula’s Hurricane, Tropical Itch, Lilikoi Margarity, The Pink Bikini Martini, and more), as well as a range of appetizers for just $8 (Hiro Sliders, Hawaiian Ceviche, Spicy Thai Fish Cakes, Sweet Potato Fries, Pork Taco, and more). For those who want to raise a glass but don’t prefer alcohol, there is also a range of mocktails available, also for $8. Wines are $2 off, well drinks are $7, and there are a range of daily specials as well, including Thursday’s Tiki Tacos for $5. Happy hour is 3:30-6 p.m. Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri.; 3:30-10 p.m. on Wed.; and Sat. and Sun. are drinks only specials from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Italian Daughter Happy Hour 

This neighborhood restaurant in North Scottsdale serves traditional Italian cuisine, from handcrafted pastas to coal-fired pizzas. The locale leans toward an upscale feel, and live music is scheduled nightly. During happy hour, order $10 favorites from 2-5 p.m. The best happy hour items on the $10 menu include dishes such as Old School Baked Ziti, Short rib Bruschetta, Margherita Pizza, Chicken Parmesan Hero, and more. There’s also Martini Monday, with $5 martinis, and Tortelli Tuesday, with $5 tortellini dishes.

Maple & Ash Happy Hour

Maple & Ash—a steak and seafood destination—is not only known for its fun customized menus, Fire-Roasted Seafood Tower, martini trees, and champagne cart, but also its “tower hour,” offered weekdays from 5-6 p.m. in the bar and lounge. A reverse tower hour, beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday only in the bar and lounge, is also available. During tower hour, score a version of the seafood tower (Manila clams, oysters, scallops, wild blue prawns, and Alaskan king crab) for $40. There are also oysters for $2 and various good drink specials.

The Montauk celebrates happy hour all day on Mondays and from 3-6 p.m. every other day. The Happy Hour discounted menu includes their house-made potato chips and dip, clam chowder, deviled eggs, mac and cheese, and crispy chicken sliders, plus $5 draft beers, $6 well cocktails, and $7 house wines. In addition to happy hour, wine lovers can score ½ off bottles every Wednesday. This upscale casual restaurant at Scottsdale Fashion Square features plenty of TVs, a large outdoor patio, bar and lounge, and globally inspired fare. This Scottsdale happy hour is offered weekdays from 3-6 p.m. with a $6 local craft draft, select handcrafted cocktails for $11, and food items including Poutine, Potstickers, Vegan Potstickers, and Thai Chili Chicken. The extensive menu features appetizers, rolls, one piece of sushi, and drinks.

Uchi Happy Hour

Uchi—which means “home” in Japanese—was founded by James Beard Award-winning chef Tyson Cole. Find non-traditional Japanese cuisine with various hot and cool tastings, sushi and sashimi, makimono, yakimono, tempura, and an ever-changing omakase (or chef’s choice menu) based on seasonal items. During the daily 4-6 p.m. happy hour, the traditional omakase—which is typically $300-plus—is $120. There are also numerous specials on both drinks and food. The menu is updated daily.

This neighborhood hangout, which has two Scottsdale locations, serves American eats in an indoor/outdoor space with TVs and “good vibes.” The Vig is a popular place to meet up with friends, and this Scottsdale happy hour is no exception. Offered daily from 3-6 p.m., the options include Nachos ($12), BBQ Pork Sliders ($6), Truffle Parmesan Fries ($8), Pork or Chicken Tacos ($6), and more. There’s a menu of “Vignature” cocktails for $8, including a Nitro Espresso Martini, Blackberry Smash, and Vig Old Fashioned. There are also $7 select wines, $5 draft beers, and $5 well liquors.
