Ling’s Wok Shop announces Lunar New Year Wine Dinner

 Ling’s Wok Shop is celebrating The Year of the Rabbit with a special Lunar New Year Wine Dinner on Jan. 25. The flex-casual restaurant located at Hayden Peak Crossing in Scottsdale is partnering with Jackson Family Wines to bring an exclusive five-course meal with highly-rated wine pairings from some of California’s top wine producers. To bring good fortune and prosperity, 9 Dragons Lion Dance Phoenix is performing a traditional Lion Dance during the celebration.

A prominent part of celebrating the Lunar New Year revolves around a feast of specific foods and the symbolism behind the dishes served.  Peking Duck is considered one of the luckiest foods to eat as it represents a happy, healthy and prosperous year. Pork is a symbol of a rich, prosperous life, wealth, strength and abundant blessings. Fish and Shrimp are also believed to increase prosperity and happiness, while dumplings are believed to signify wealth.

In honor of the celebration, Ling’s Wok Shop will host a New Year’s Wine Dinner with Jackson Family Wines on Jan. 25, 2023 reimagining classic Chinese New Year celebratory dishes.The five-course menu features:

First Course: Dumpling Medley-Pork & Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed Dumpling, Spicy Chicken Dumpling paired with Galerie Sauvignon Blanc

 

 

 

 

Second Course Cantonese Style Sea Bass paired with Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay

Third Course Peking Duck with hoisin and green onion paired with La Crema RR Pinot Noir
