One Local Restaurant Anticipates Selling More Than 21,000 Tacos Next Wednesday
By Michelle Glicksman | July 21, 2023

On Wed., July 26, Macayo’s Mexican Food will be busy selling tacos. Lots and lots of tacos.
In honor of the brand’s 77th anniversary in September, its restaurants around the Valley, including its Scottsdale location, are offering a .77 cent deal each month. This month’s one-day .77 cent special is its crispy tacos (choose from shredded beef or shredded chicken).
Macayo’s is currently preparing for the day—in 2021, when they ran this same special, they sold exactly 16,772 crispy tacos in just one day. This year, they anticipate selling a whopping 21,400.
“We are honored to offer these anniversary specials every month to celebrate our longevity in Arizona and our longtime loyal customers,” says Ashley Negron, director of marketing KIND Hospitality.
The special is available for dine-in or takeout.
As Tuesday, Sept. 26—the brand’s actual 77th anniversary date—draws nearer, the restaurants will continue to offer a different monthly special on the 26th of each month.
