By Staff | December 9, 2024
Beginning today, December 9, 2024 and running through the next year (ending December 14, 2025), Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, will be debuting a new exhibition called A Fistful of Colors that features over 50 objects including paintings, sculptures, photography, textiles, and design pieces, highlighting the vast applications of color across different disciplines.
Curated by Western Spirit Curators – Dr. Andrew Nelson, Henry Terry, Robert Fleck, Natalie Reichert – A Fistful of Colors explores the complex nature of color perception through a wide range of objects spanning different eras, showcasing how artists, photographers, motion picture studio artists, and jewelers have engaged with color throughout history.
In order to let visitors further engage with color concepts in a hands-on way, the Fistful of Colors exhibition if aided by the use of a color wheel on a stick to help relay the concepts of reflection and absorption of light to determine what the human eye sees.
