The Details About W Scottsdale’s New Sexy Roman Restaurant
By Michelle Glicksman | February 25, 2025

The W Scottsdale has announced it will soon debut a new locale called Sexy Roman.
Led by James Beard-nominated chef Jason Franey and the L.A.-based restaurant team behind Baltaire Steakhouse and Flint by Baltaire in Phoenix, Sexy Roman will serve upscale twists on the authentic recipes of Italy and the Mediterranean, according to restaurant reps. It will also feature tableside drink service with a signature, custom-made martini cart.
The lavish locale, which features sleek, luminous décor—including a glowing black marble bar top and lounge with plush couches, slide-away window walls, and outdoor dining deck with live plants— has been under construction for the past year and will welcome its first guests this spring.
“We’ve designed this space to be more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. From the glow of the marble bar to the open-air dining, every detail invites guests to escape into something extraordinary,” says Travis Strickland, COO of Alliance Hospitality Group, which counts the locale as part of its portfolio.
Food options include offerings from a Raw Bar, such as the ahi tuna crudo with eggplant caviar and harissa vinaigrette. The menu’s spuntini section features classic Roman dishes such as saffron suppli stuffed with taleggio cheese, while pastas options include the lumache alla spicy vodka.
Sexy Roman also offers family-style dishes like lasagna, as well as prime steaks—which can be topped with hand-stuffed tortellini.
A fun way to end a meal is by choosing tiramisu, which is rolled out on a cart and served with an espresso anglaise sauce spooned tableside. Gelato is also available—offered with authentic pizzelle.
Speaking of carts, there’s a signature martini cart.
“[It] is more than just a showpiece—it’s your personal kickoff ritual. A discreet press of a hidden button bathes your table in a sultry red glow, summoning a perfectly crafted martini, made-to-order with a flash of theatrics and a nitro-chilled glass,” says restaurant representatives.
If martinis aren’t your thing, there are contemporary-classic Italian-style cocktails and wines from Italy and beyond.
Sexy Roman will be open nightly.
