In 2021, Zander Diamont and Jared Amzallag co-founded Minimal Living Concepts, a unique company offering modern guest houses perfect to use as home offices, home gyms, multigenerational living spaces, and more. The designs are sleek and modern, and the turnkey process has the company handling all aspects of the design, permitting, and build.
The company offers four product options, ranging from 322 to 1,178 square feet.
Here, the two talk about their company, some of their favorite places around Scottsdale, and the feature they’d want for their own homes.
What is Minimal Living Concepts?
Minimal Living Concepts is a design build firm that is committed to creating the world’s most seamless path to buying your guest home online. We plan to expand our services to include large-scale homes in the very near future.
What sets these spaces apart from other options?
What really sets us apart is our service, process, and design. Our service is 100% turnkey. This means we handle the design, permitting, engineering, and construction of your unit. Additionally, all of our pricing is transparent and available on our website at minimallivingconcepts.com. We want to remove the confusion from construction. All of our units are predesigned, making selection a breeze. Customizations are available, as well.
What prompted you to launch the company?
During the pandemic, we discovered just how hard it was to navigate construction. We had projects we wanted to build and quickly realized how confusing the process was and how challenging it could be to formulate the right team. Because so many people were working from home, we believed that if we could help homeowners add space to their existing homes, there would be a strong demand for our services. We launched Minimal, and the rest was history.
Are there any minimum requirements to consider one of these?
In over 95% of cases, we find that adding an accessory structure to your home is possible. Rather than boring you with zoning information that differs from city to city, we offer an on-site study for $250 that will leave you with all of the zoning information necessary to get a project accomplished.
How long do they take to build?
Projects typically take around three months to permit and four months to build.
If you were building your own dream house—with no restrictions—what is the one feature you’d want to include?
We would aim to build something timeless that will work for generations to come. We love open spaces and modern simplicity.
Favorite locations in Scottsdale?
Some of our favorite restaurants in Scottsdale are Berdena’s, Dominick’s, Mythical Coffee, Fat Ox, Wanderlust, All About Tennis, The Village, Kaleidoscope, Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, and the dog park at Chaparral.
