New Year’s Auction at J. Levine Rescheduled to Sunday, January 15

Early morning break-in today forces auction house to reschedule

WHO: J. Levine Auction & Appraisal

WHAT: J. Levine’s New Year’s auction has been rescheduled to Sunday, January 15 after an early morning break-in today.

An estimated $225,000 (fair market value) worth of items were stolen from the auction house this morning. The majority of items were jewelry and firearms. Two of the items stolen included a black vintage Hermes Birkin Kelly bag and an unfired John Wayne's Colt presentation set with matching serial numbers.

All items that were stolen are fully-insured.

No other items were damaged.

J. Levine had robust security in place and is increasing security after this incident.

The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating.

Now in its 8th year, J. Levine’s New Year’s Day auction features the “best of the best” vintage items, rare antiques and collectibles held back from affluent estates during the year for this big auction.

RESCHEDULED AUCTION – Now set for Sunday, January 15:

The auction on January 15 will feature the remaining rare collectibles, fine art and other items that were scheduled to be auctioned today plus some exciting new items. Doors open for preview on Sunday, January 15 at 9 a.m., with the auction starting at 11 a.m.

Items expected to create a bidding frenzy on January 15 are:

Jimi Hendrix’s wah-wah pedal, amp & fuzz prototype consigned by “Amp Doctor” Dave Weyer, who built the wah pedal for Hendrix and says it was used at Woodstock.

A Coco Chanel dollhouse of her apartment.

Beautiful estate jewelry, including an 11.67 carat emerald-cut diamond.

A 1948 Luscombe SpeedBird airplane.

Preview for the January 15 auction will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, January 12, 13 & 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
