There are a lot of great private golf clubs in Scottsdale, but if you’re seeking country club atmosphere, amenities and service without any annual membership fees and costs, McDowell Mountain Golf Club (MMGC) is the only choice.

Owned by Phil Mickelson and “Coach” Steve Loy, a recent renovation and course enhancement by architect Randy Heckenkemper, has turned the course into the premiere public course for both beginner to experienced golfers. In 2017 MMGC won Golf Inc.’s Clubhouse Remodel of the Year award.

"We really wanted to make the golf course that was family friendly and fun to play,” stated Phil Mickelson. “By strategically adding grass in and cleaning up the desert areas, making the corridors much bigger, we feel like we made it a much more enjoyable experience.”

In October, Chris Johnson returns to MMGC as its new General Manager. He was the Director of Golf at the club several years ago. Boyd Summerhays leads the golf instruction program. The former PGA player is nationally recognized as one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers, has been named one of Golf Tip Magazine’s Top 30 Instructors, and has over 10 years of teaching individuals at all levels of the game.

In addition to great golf, what sets MMGC apart is that golfers enjoy spectacular, sweeping views of the entire Valley of the Sun while playing. The clubhouse facilities, event space and restaurant rival private club amenities. This year the Mesquite Grill restaurant won Golf Inc.’s. Restaurant Remodel of the Year. It’s a top spot in town for al fresco dining while watching the sun dip behind iconic Camelback Mountain. The clubs newly designed event lawn offers a stunning setting for weddings, family celebrations and business events.

For a great deal on golf in 2019, MMGC offers, The 2019 Player’s Club Card. It gives golfers the opportunity to play McDowell Mountain regularly at preferred cardholder rates, enjoy discounts in the golf shop & restaurant, access to cardholder-only events, enrollment in a rewards program that earns points toward complimentary golf, and travel benefits that entitle cardholders to play at participating OB Sports facilities at discounted rates.

The card is $99 until Oct. 31, 2018 and $119 from Nov. 1-Dec. 31, 2018. Purchase your card now here.
