Slip Cast 1: Bell Making Workshop – Cosanti Originals

This March, Cosanti Originals is pleased to host two exciting workshops that invite participants to “get their hands dirty” and learn about the unique time-honored techniques used by Cosanti artisans themselves for decades.

This class is designed for Cosanti bell enthusiasts and anyone who has wondered how these beautiful pieces of art are made. The workshop guides participants through the 70-year tradition of casting and carving ceramic bells. Schedule is as follows:

 

10-10:15 a.m. — Sign-in and orientation
10:15-11 a.m. — Guided tour of Cosanti
11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. — Casting and carving demonstration
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. — Designing and carving a bell
12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. — Photos and conclusion

The cost for this workshop is $165 per person, plus taxes and fees. The course is limited to just 10 participants.
