All proceeds to benefit Saguaros Children’s Charities foundation
The Saguaros have announced the details of the upcoming 2023 Olympiad fundraising event, now in its 24th year. The Olympic-style competition including a variety of lawn games and involving teams of residential and commercial real estate professionals will take place on Friday, April 14 at Scottsdale Stadium. For the second year, the Olympiad will include a general admission beer garden where the public is invited to enjoy the event. A $100 GA ticket provides entry to the event, food and drink all day, music, and a spectator area to view the Olympiad competitors. Additionally, for the second year in a row, The Saguaros will host its popular James Bond-themed Cards 4 Kids casino night gala on March 25 at Scottsdale Hangar 1, in an effort to provide ABC and BFK teams with additional opportunities to raise funds for charity. All proceeds benefit The Saguaros Children’s Charities Foundation. Olympiad and Cards 4 Kids details available at https://www.saguaros.com/olympiad-2023
The Olympiad includes the Agents Benefiting Children (ABC) division and Brokers for Kids (BFK) division. The ABC division includes teams of residential real estate professionals, and the BFK division includes teams of commercial real estate professionals. Teams from each division compete against each other from January through April by selling sponsorships items for the culminating event on April 14th. The highest fundraising team from each division receives either the Captain’s Cup (ABC) or the Broker’s Cup (BFK). As a celebration of their efforts, teams get to participate in games including dodgeball, cornhole, pop-a-shot, and trash can pong with the victor taking home the Saguaros’ Cup.
Last year’s Olympiad drew over 700 participants and raised nearly $1 million for children’s charities, including Boys Hope Girls Hope, The Care Fund, and Harvest Compassion Center. This year, 96 teams are expected to participate (48 in ABC; 48 in BFK), and The Saguaros hope to reach over $1 million in funds raised for the Saguaros Children’s Charities Foundation. Jonah Joffe is the ABC Chairman, and Sean Doyle is the BFK Chairman. Those interested in signing up for a team or sponsoring the event should email Jonah at jjoffe@saguaros.com for the ABC (residential real estate) division and Sean Doyle at sdoyle@saguaros.com for the BFK (commercial real estate) division.
About The Saguaros Founded in 1987, the philanthropic and social club known today as the Saguaros has raised millions of dollars for local Arizona non-profit organizations. Composed of up to 50 young men under the age of 40, The Saguaros proudly give back to the community and support children’s charities through our two main fundraising events: NiteFlite and Olympiad. Most importantly, The Saguaros are unique among service organizations in that it not only raises money for children’s charities, but also encourages “hands on” interaction with the children the club supports. This active participation serves to strengthen relationships with those it serves and create a true partnership with its charity partners. Plus, thanks to our dedicated charitable foundation, all proceeds from Saguaros’ fundraising activities are funneled directly to 501 (c)(3) foundation, with 30% of the funds going into an endowment fund, and the remainder going into a general fund for disbursement to the club’s charity partners.
