Scottsdale will soon have a new Italian restaurant. The Italiano, located at 90th Street and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale, will open this summer.

The concept is the sixth for well-known restaurateur Chef Joey of The Maggiore Group, whose other destinations include Hash Kitchen, The Mexicano, The Sicilian Butcher, The Sicilian Baker, and The Rosticceria.

The Italiano continues The Maggiore Group’s dedication to providing one-of-a-kind culinary experiences. A casually elegant destination, it was designed to transport guests "to the very heart of culinary tradition in Italy." Menu options include flavors of old-school red sauce Italian cuisine but with Chef Joey's spin. There will also be interactive tableside experiences such as an antipasto cart, where guests can curate their own plate with over 30 different items, as well as a Limoncello cocktail cart and a Zabaione dessert cart.

The Italiano

The restaurant is set in a 7,543-square-foot space. A picturesque doorway greets diners, and the interior is adorned with limestone and olive trees throughout. There will be traditional seating, as well as an indoor patio.

Designed by Cristina Maggiore, The Italiano aims to elevate the dining experience with the addition of a private dining room with an immersive art installation that pays homage to Chef Joey’s late father’s iconic restaurant, Tomaso’s. Additional design elements include a sky-painted ceiling for guests to sip and unwind under a color-changing canvas that reflects the rising and setting of the sun.

The Italiano

“This is going to be our best concept yet!" says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts. "We’re drawing inspiration from every corner of Italy to blend age-old traditions with innovative approaches. We can’t wait for you to experience our family’s heritage in a new and familiar way.”

The restaurant will be hiring for a variety of positions during a soon-to-be-announced hiring event.
