Raise a Glass! One Handsome Bastard Distillery Supporting Hurricane Relief Efforts
By Staff | October 31, 2024
One Handsome Bastard, Old Town Scottsdale’s first and only micro-distillery, has partnered with Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) to support hurricane relief efforts. Through Nov. 15, $5 from every bottle of One Handsome Bastard vodka sold will be donated to ROWW, directly benefiting those impacted by the recent devastation of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
Reach Out WorldWide is a 501(c)(3) founded by the late actor Paul Walker following the disaster in Haiti in 2010. Now led by Walker’s youngest brother, Cody Walker, ROWW is an agile group of first responders and other professionals in the medical and construction field who augment local expertise when natural disasters strike to accelerate relief efforts.
“In the wake of these disasters, we knew we wanted to lend a hand,” says Trish Ritchie, owner and operator of One Handsome Bastard. “We are thrilled to join forces with ROWW, an organization that shares our commitment to making a difference. Every bottle sold brings us one step closer to helping the communities devastated by these disasters recover.”
As part of the initiative, One Handsome Bastard will host a happy hour event on Thurs., Nov. 15, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., which will feature a raffle to further support ROWW’s efforts, craft cocktails, and the community coming together in support of a good cause. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for only $5, with all proceeds going directly to the nonprofit organization. The event will include exciting prizes from local businesses and artisans, including a print donated by Carissa Hewitt with Blues Desert Soul Gallery in Old Town by artist Brian Banash. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to win two tickets to FuelFest Scottsdale, the world-class automotive experience where the Fast & Furious saga comes to life and car enthusiasts can enjoy racing, drifting, custom and exotic cars, music, and more, taking place on Dec. 7. Plus, proceeds from FuelFest are also donated to Reach Out WorldWide.
One Handsome Bastard hand-distills and manufactures its small-batch gin and vodka on-site. They produce a wide variety of gin, vodka, and flavor-infused liquors. House-made infused liquor flavors include grapefruit, green chile, blood orange, lemon, and strawberry.
