Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council Co-CEO Christina Spicer Named Recipient of Phoenix Mercury Believe in Women Award

Scottsdale resident Christina Spicer, the co-CEO of the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC), was named a recipient of the Phoenix Mercury Believe in Women Award, a recognition that elevates incredible women in sports, business, and philanthropy who are making an impact in their communities.
Sitting at the intersection of women and girls, basketball, LGBTQ rights, and people of color, the Phoenix Mercury has utilized its platform to lift the voices of those previously silenced and to honor individuals making a difference in the community. In continuation of this commitment, the Phoenix Mercury, for the third year in a row, is elevating incredible women in sports, business, and philanthropy who are making an impact in their communities with the Believe in Women award by Fry’s Food Stores.
“The Phoenix Mercury uses its platform every day to elevate women and girls, and we can’t think of better role models for our Girl Scouts,” says Spicer. “This honor is truly humbling and fuels my passion of increasing support and advocacy for girls in Arizona. It is even more special to join the incredible group of past Phoenix Mercury Believe in Women honorees, including GSACPC co-CEO Mary Mitchell.”
Spicer has been a member of the GSACPC team since 2014 and was named co-CEO of the organization in 2022. A leader in the nonprofit sector since 2003, including roles at notMYkid and Teach For America, Spicer recently completed service on the Valley Leadership board and is also a founding member/past president of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network. She currently serves on the Young & Empowered Women Board, the City of Phoenix’s Women Commission, Charter 100 as treasurer and volunteered on the Vista College Prep School board for three years and with the Hope For Future Foster Care Camp. In 2013, Spicer served as a Flinn Foundation Flinn-Brown cohort and in 2009 founded CAMEO, a women’s mentorship organization. In 2022, she was honored among the Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and was named a Diverse Business Leader to Watch in 2023.
Spicer earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Arizona State University.
