MEET:
Tyler Carlisle
Owner, Bright Home Energy
Tyler Carlisle has been an entrepreneur for eight years and owns three businesses: Bright Home Energy, Bright Home Construction, and Prospect Roof Co. He is also a member of The Saguaros, a philanthropic group dedicated to raising money for Arizona children’s charities. This year he is chairing the group’s Olympiad, which is in its 26th year and features a variety of lawn games such as cornhole, kong pong, dodgeball, and more, as well as live music and food and drinks. The event will be held at Scottsdale Stadium on April 18.
You do a lot! Can you start by telling us about Bright Home Energy?
Bright Home energy was founded in 2018. We are a full-service solar installation company. We cover the entire state. Our company motto is, “Powering a better experience.” We offer solar panels and home battery storage.
What sets the company apart from others?
All work is performed in-house by our team, with no subcontractors. We are focused on Arizona only. We have custom-tailored offerings for each home. We take a whole home approach—not just offering solar but also providing ways to save on energy.
Your top 3 home energy-saving tips?
Pair solar with the following products:
- Attic insulation. Lowest cost, largest benefit reduction in home temperature and power consumption.
- Switching your lighting to LED. Incandescent lights emit heat, LED do not.
-
Aeroseal. An effective way to seal up your duct work and cuts down on allergens and dust.
In addition to Bright Home Energy, you are part of The Saguaros—and you are chair of this year’s Olympiad. What is the Olympiad?
The Olympiad is one of our two signature fundraising events—the day of is an outdoor field day event where teams compete in a variety of events, as well as enjoying food, drink, and fun in the sun. It is a thank you to our teams for supporting us. Throughout the first several months of each year, these teams host fundraising events, raise money on our behalf, and promote our club as we aim to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for this event.
Who does the event benefit and how much do you hope to raise?
Normally we raise $750k-plus per Olympiad. All of the funds go to local Arizona children’s charities that we have vetted to ensure the funds are being used to directly impact the lives of Arizona children.

Is the event open to the public?
Yes, anyone can attend the event. Beer garden tickets are available for $100 and provide food, drinks, and the opportunity to watch the games.
When you’re not busy with those endeavors, what do you do for fun?
I love golfing, doing hot yoga, hiking, working out and trying all of the good food and coffee spots around town.
Favorite places around Scottsdale?
Camelback Mountain, Le Grande Orange, any golf course in the area, Maple & Ash, and Ocean 44.
Favorite motto?
B-Legendary. It derived from my own personal self-discovery and has been a guiding motto to allow me to be my true authentic self. It simply means to be myself without asking permission or seeking validation from others.
One thing we’d be surprised to learn about you?
I grew up as a farm boy in central small-town Utah. Growing up, I would have to feed cows, horses, and do the paper route all before school. These things taught me how to work hard, and how to find joy even in tough situations.
