You may not know it, but dance is a huge part of Arizona! There are a multitude of dance studios and programs where young students are learning and preparing themselves to take to the stage like these incredible dancers performing at a venue near you. Check out these events coming to the Scottsdale community during the fall and winter seasons:

November 4-13: Canal Convergence Celebrate the 10 th anniversary of Scottsdale’s Canal Convergence which showcases large scale public art in and around the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront. Taking place November 4-13 from 6:00-10:00pm; Sundays, 6:00-9:00pm, The Herberger Stage at Soleri Plaza will host nightly music and spoken word performances, while dancers have been invited to perform and interact with the artworks.

Dance specific performances include:

December 9-10: Images in Motion Taking place at the Scottsdale Community College December 9 and 10th at 8 p.m., see the school’s dance companies, Fusion and Instinct Dance Corps, present work from both local and nationally recognized guest artists in a showcase of multiple dance genres ranging from jazz to modern to hip hop!

December 9: BODYTRAFFIC This is a can’t miss event! BODYTRAFFIC uses the creative spirit of its Los Angeles home to fulfill its mission of delivering performances that inspire audiences simply to love dance. January 14: Limón Dance Company Another muse-see performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will be by the Limón Dance Company on January 14 th at 8 p.m. José Limón is one of the pioneers of modern dance in America, and his company, Limón Dance Company has been at the forefront of dance since the company’s inception in 1946. The works of Limón Dance Company have influenced the evolution of dance with their arresting visual clarity, theatricality, and rhythmic and musical life.
