April Sales of ALL Desserts at This Restaurant to Benefit Research Foundation
By Staff | April 9, 2025

Throughout April, all Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen locations will donate $1 for every dessert sold to the Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT). This initiative is an expansion of the locally owned restaurant’s ongoing Raising for Rett giveback program, which donates $1 to Rett syndrome research for every chocolate chip cookie dessert sold year-round. Since August 2021, Picazzo’s has raised nearly $40,000 for autism and Rett syndrome research and resources.
When Picazzo’s Managing Partner Chris Disney first launched the restaurant’s fundraising campaign for autism research in 2021, he had no idea that the following year his own daughter, Collyns, would be diagnosed with Rett syndrome—a rare genetic neurological disorder that falls on the autism spectrum.
“The encouraging news is that researchers know what causes Rett syndrome, and through gene replacement trials, they are getting closer to finding a cure that could dramatically alter our daughter’s quality of life,” says Disney. “For those who want to support this cause, we encourage you to visit Picazzo’s and indulge in any of our desserts during April. Donations can also be made directly to Picazzo’s Raising for Rett campaign at https://rettgive.org/campaigns/supporting-rett-syndrome-research/.”
Desserts include the skillet-baked chocolate chip cookie, hot apple crisp, gluten-free tiramisu, and vegan New York-style cheesecake.
