An almost 18,000-square-foot compound-like estate in Paradise Valley, currently listed for $20 million, will be offered via auction beginning June 7 at 4 p.m. EDT.
The one-of-a-kind property was inspired by J. Paul Getty’s Roman 17th-century villa La Posta Vecchia, and is located in the exclusive Camelback Country Club Estates neighborhood. It spans an expansive 2.12 acres and offers 17,912 square feet of floor space with five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and one half bathroom inside.
The estate’s private architecture winds around two interior courtyards, bracketed by arched loggia, in the height of stately Mediterranean luxury. There’s also a magnificent hand-tiled pool. The interior continues the opulent luxury, with unparalleled craftsmanship from the library millwork to the coffered ceilings to the bookend marble floors, elegant surprises at every turn, a chef’s kitchen with a long list of luxuries, and an ensuite master bath worthy of a spa.
“Ten years in the making, Casa Oso Negro—a true masterpiece of architecture with unparalleled Roman-inspired craftsmanship—was designed and formally used as a family office destination and was then repurposed as a private hideaway/personal resort,” says luxury real estate agent Frank Aazami, who is the listing agent. “I am thrilled to once again be working with Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions to find the next owner of this one-of-a-kind property.”
Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty partnered with Concierge Auctions for the auction, which will continue for a week. The bidding is set to culminate on June 14 in person at Sotheby’s in New York, as well as via the web. The reserve price for the property, which is located at 8100 N. 68th St., is $12 million. Showings are available June 3 and 4 from noon-2 p.m. PST, by appointment, in person or virtually.
