Scottsdale Fashion Square—which has more than 200 shops and restaurants, featuring nearly 60 unique-to-market retailers and upscale culinary concepts—is growing again. The shopping destination is the new home of first-to-market BALMAIN and ZENGA stores, as well as a new Athleta location. All three have recently opened for business.
New Retail
The new BALMAIN boutique, located on the first level in the luxury wing, is the brand’s first stand-alone location in Arizona. The French luxury fashion house was founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain, the visionary behind the iconic “New French Style.” Under the creative leadership of French-born designer Antonin Tron, the Maison stands for contemporary elegance, honoring over 80 years of heritage.
BALMAIN’s collections span women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, Balmain Beauty, inspired by its legendary mid-20th century fragrances, and signature eyewear, all reflecting the Maison’s distinctive identity.
Also in the luxury wing on the first level, ZEGNA is internationally recognized as a leading global luxury menswear brand and part of the Zegna Group. The store at Scottsdale Fashion Square is the brand’s first stand-alone location in Arizona.
Established as a fabric maker in 1910, ZEGNA, under the artistic direction of Alessandro Sartori, has entered an exciting new chapter in its history, continuing along the same road that stretches back more than 110 years with practicality and pragmatism putting a progressive spin on traditions to meet the needs of the modern man.
Located on the second level of the shopping center’s recently renovated south wing, Athleta is a premium performance lifestyle brand with a mission to inspire women and girls to build confidence, strength, and belonging through movement.
The Renovation Efforts
Since its early days as an open-air shopping center, Scottsdale Fashion Square has continually reimagined and reinvested in the property. Among the most recent examples is the enhancement project now underway to elevate the central gathering space known as the Palm Court. A hub of activity within the center and a popular location for community events, fashion shows, and numerous fast casual dining options, the updated Palm Court will deliver a sophisticated, modern design motif that aligns with the center’s signature luxury aesthetic.
During this summer, visitors can expect to see key elements of the renovation coming to life, including upgraded flooring and a dynamic three-sided digital display, bringing vibrant energy and a striking visual centerpiece to the space. The renovation also enhances culinary options for shoppers, with the recent addition of Edo Japanese Grill and Bacio di Latte, a new eatery that will begin serving classic Italian gelato, fresh baked goods, and rich coffee beverages later this fall.
Scottsdale History Hall of Fame
Beyond retail, Scottsdale Fashion Square has long supported local nonprofits, arts organizations, youth programs, and citywide initiatives that uplift residents and strengthen community vitality. Through partnerships, fundraising events, volunteerism, and in-kind support, the center has helped fuel Scottsdale’s growth while preserving its vibrant character.
Due to its long impact on the community, Scottsdale Fashion Square was recently inducted into the Scottsdale History Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is one of the most distinguished honors presented by the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce. It recognizes the people, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that have made a lasting and meaningful impact on Scottsdale.
Now in its 31st year, only 155 individuals and 35 organizations have been inducted. Honorees are evaluated in categories including community service and involvement, leadership, and humanitarian values.
