As Arizona continues to experience sustained growth in real estate development and related legal activity, the leading Valley law firm May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie (MPBG) is expanding its real estate practice with the addition of Attorney John J. Campo.

“Real estate activity across Arizona – from acquisitions and development to financing and leasing – has grown increasingly complex as the market continues to evolve,” said Phillip May, managing partner at May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie Law Firm, P.C. “John’s addition strengthens our expanding real estate practice, enhancing our ability to guide clients through sophisticated transactions and provide strategic counsel at every stage of the process.”

Arizona’s real estate market remains one of the most active in the country, with Maricopa County consistently ranking among the top counties nationwide for population growth and new housing permits. At the same time, legal teams are seeing increased demand tied to complex transactions, financing structures, and disputes driven by rising interest rates, shifting valuations, and continued commercial and residential development across the state.

Campo joins MPBG with a strong background representing businesses, development and investment firms, and high-net-worth individuals in sophisticated real estate transactions. Practicing since 2021, his experience includes all stages of acquisitions and dispositions, from negotiating purchase and sale agreements to conducting due diligence, reviewing title and survey matters, and preparing closing and ancillary documents such as easements and restrictive covenants.

He also advises borrowers on purchase money and construction financing and represents both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters. His comprehensive experience allows him to guide clients through increasingly complex real estate environments with precision and strategic insight.

Born in Folsom, California and raised in the Sacramento area, Campo recently relocated to Arizona from West Palm Beach, Florida, where he had been practicing law since 2021. Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School, Campo worked as a Real Estate Specialist for a Los Angeles-based AmLaw 100 firm.
