While Halloween may be just around the corner—with Thanksgiving to then follow—one Valley restaurant is already getting ready for a December holiday tradition: Tamales.
Tamales are a central part of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in Mexico and many other parts of the world—and local Mexican restaurant Macayo’s Mexican Food is ready to start celebrating by showing you how to make your own.
Yes, it’s time for Macayo’s popular tamalada events.
“The classes honor the traditional process of gathering friends and family to assemble tamales,” say restaurant representatives.
In addition to learing how to assemble tamales, the classes include a three-course lunch and a top-shelf margarita made with Don Julio Blanco.
And yes, you get to take home all the tamales you make during the event!
The classes are $60++ and are limited to 4o total guests each and a maximum of four guests per party.
