Calling all taco lovers! Rusty Taco, the fast-casual taco joint known for its fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and laid-back vibes, has new energy behind the grill.

ARS Hospitality, led by Anthony Smith (CEO) and Timm Timbrook (COO), has officially taken majority ownership of the three Arizona Rusty Taco locations in Scottsdale, Tempe, and Gilbert.

And they’re already spicing things up.

New Breakfast Option

“Since taking over, we’ve introduced a variety of promotions to better connect with the community and expanded our hours to include breakfast, giving Arizona the chance to enjoy our delicious breakfast tacos alongside our signature tacos,” says Smith.

Named after founder Rusty Fenton, Rusty Taco is a laidback taco spot where fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and easy vibes come together. There are more than 20 unique taco options, including favorites like baja shrimp, crispy chicken, and brisket, and every order is made fresh and packed with personality. There’s also house-made queso, salsas, and guacamole, along with signature margaritas made with fresh-squeezed lime juice.

But this takeover isn’t just about adding breakfast burritos to the already extensive menu. Smith and Timbrook have their sights set on growing the Rusty Taco brand statewide, with more locations planned for the future.

Meet the New Team

Anthony Smith brings serious restaurant cred. He’s a longtime industry exec who’s led national brands like Snap Kitchen and built and grew countless others. Timm Timbrook has worked with Arizona favorites like Fox Restaurant Concepts and RA Sushi, and knows how to run smooth, guest-focused operations.

Together, they’re on a mission to make each Rusty Taco a “go-to destination within the communities we serve,” says Smith.

“Anthony and Timm bring a wealth of expertise in the restaurant industry, making them ideal partners as we continue building Rusty Taco’s presence,” says Dan Smith, president of Rusty Taco. “Our locations in Arizona are already strong performers, and their leadership will help showcase the brand’s potential to other operators. Expanding with skilled operators like them is key to extending Rusty Taco’s footprint and delivering consistent, high-quality experiences to guests nationwide.”

Rusty Taco

Rusty Taco was created by founder Rusty Fenton, who with his wife Denise Fenton, opened the first Rusty Taco location in Dallas in 2010. Today, the brand has 35 locations across 12 states and is currently franchising.

The menu items are made by hand with recipes created by Rusty, who once said, “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®!”
