October is National Pizza Month! Three local pizzerias are doing more than just serving up great pies—they’re celebrating by giving back to the community in a big way. Here are three to put on your radar.

Pizzeria Virtu

All October long, Pizzeria Virtu is featuring a special collaboration with local nonprofit The Joy Bus for National Pizza Month. Crafted by Pizzeria Virtu’s own Chef Gio Osso alongside award-winning chef and Joy Bus founder Jennifer Caraway, the limited-time “Joy Bus” pizza features a crave-worthy combination of creamy chèvre, earthy mushrooms, caramelized fennel, sausage, and a touch of fresh basil to top it all off. A portion of proceeds from every “Joy Bus” pizza sold will benefit The Joy Bus and help support their mission of delivering fresh and healthy meals to cancer patients in need.

Streets of New York

This month, Streets of New York is turning pizza into purpose with Dough-nation Thursdays. Each Thursday throughout the month, a portion of proceeds from every Create Your Own or Gourmet Pizza (dine-in or takeout) will be donated to Childhelp, a national nonprofit dedicated to eradicating child abuse and neglect and ensuring every child grows up safe and loved. With 15 family-owned locations across Arizona—two of which are in Scottsdale—Streets of New York has been serving award-winning, handcrafted, New York–style pizza for more than four decades. From classic slices and gluten-free options to specialty gourmet pies, there’s something for everyone.

Scottsdale locations: 15560 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260 and 6730 E. Thomas Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

The Sicilian Butcher
The Sicilian Butcher is celebrating National Pizza Month by giving back, one slice at a time. For every pizza sold at its three locations (Phoenix, Peoria, and Chandler), the restaurant will donate $1 to Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing prompt support and resources to those impacted by breast cancer. Guests can choose from artisan-crafted pizzas like the classic Margherita with San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, and basil; the indulgent Alla Vodka Pizza with vodka cream, caramelized onions, and Calabrian chili; the rich Bianca topped with caciocavallo, mozzarella, and ricotta; or the hearty Butcher loaded with guanciale, fennel sausage, and salami.
