What inspired you to go into this field?
I was inspired to pursue plastic surgery because it allowed me to solve complex problems while making a real difference in people’s lives. I’ve always been drawn to the blend of science, artistry, and human connection the field offers. During my residency, I performed numerous breast reconstruction procedures for breast cancer patients—an experience
that deeply shaped my perspective on the emotional impact of surgery. That combination of restoring confidence, solving challenges, and bringing happiness to others continues to drive my work today.
How do you balance the art and science of what you do?
Balancing the art and science of plastic surgery is at the heart of everything I do. The science provides the foundation—an in-depth understanding of anatomy, safety, and technique—while the art is about having the vision to see what’s possible and the skill to create natural, beautiful results. Every patient is unique, so it’s never a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about listening closely, understanding their goals, and using both precision and creativity to help them look and feel their best.
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about plastic surgery or aesthetics?
One thing I wish more people understood is that not every trend in plastic surgery or aesthetics is actually new—many times, it’s a well-established technique with a fresh marketing term behind it. The aesthetics industry is heavily influenced by social media and branding, which can create a lot of noise and confusion for patients. That’s why it’s so important to go to a board-certified plastic surgeon—someone who not only understands the latest trends but also has the training, experience, and judgment to know what’s truly safe and effective. At the end of the day, it’s not just about what’s trending—it’s about what’s right for you.
What do you think is the most impactful procedure someone can do?
One of the most impactful procedures someone can do is a deep, comprehensive facelift like our signature G|Restore. It’s not just about lifting the skin—it’s about restoring the underlying structure, volume, and balance of the face in a way that looks natural and refined. With G|Restore, we’re addressing the full facial aging process, not just surface-level concerns. It’s one of the most transformative procedures because it can turn back the clock by a decade or more—helping patients look like themselves, just more refreshed.
What’s your go-to way to relax when you’re off the clock?
When I’m off the clock, golfing is one of my favorite ways to unwind—it’s the perfect mix of focus and relaxation, and Scottsdale has no shortage of incredible courses. I also really enjoy trying new restaurants around town—there’s always something new popping up, and I love exploring different flavors and cuisines.
Any guilty pleasures—TV shows, snacks, or hobbies?
Guilty pleasures? Golf is definitely up there—it’s my favorite way to relax and recharge. I also enjoy wine tasting and checking out new spots around town. When I do have quiet time, I love reading inspirational books that help guide both my personal and professional growth. Titles like The Perfect Plan and Becoming a Category of One have really shaped how I approach success with clarity, focus, and purpose.
If you weren’t a surgeon, what career would you be curious to try?
If I weren’t a surgeon, I’d still be building something—most likely as an entrepreneur. I’ve always had a passion for creating and growing ideas, which is part of what led me to start MDSkin Lounge. I enjoy the challenge of building a brand, leading a team, and finding ways to make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s in medicine or business, I’m driven by purpose, innovation, and the opportunity to serve others.
Motto you live by?
“Be a servant to others in all that you do.”
This is a motto I live by both personally and professionally. Whether I’m in the operating room, mentoring my team, or connecting with patients, I believe true leadership starts with service. When you lead with humility and a commitment to helping others, everything else—excellence, trust, impact—naturally follows. It’s the foundation behind our Three C’s: Clinical Excellence, Client Experience, and a Culture of Collaboration.
One thing we’d be surprised to learn about you?
You’d be surprised to know I was actually born in Germany.
