Membership-based healthcare provided MDVIP expanded its network of primary care doctors with a new affiliated practice in Scottsdale led by Donald Opila, MD.

Opila is a double board-certified internist and geriatrician and has cared for patients for 30 years from his office at 3260 N Hayden Road, Ste. 103. He has a special interest in complex multisystem diseases, including memory loss, diabetes, pulmonary disease, kidney disease, chronic pain and gait abnormality. He maintains leadership roles and admitting privileges at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, where he serves on the executive committee and chairs the Department of Internal Medicine.

“When I started practicing 30 years ago, I could spend meaningful time with each patient, but today’s healthcare environment has become increasingly rushed and impersonal,” says Opila, who has earned consistent recognition from his peers as both a Top Doctor in PHOENIX Magazine and a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2012. “Joining MDVIP restores my ability to practice medicine the way I was trained—with adequate time to explore not just symptoms, but lifestyle factors, preventive care, and the whole person behind the diagnosis.”

Smaller Practice, More Time with Patients

As an MDVIP affiliate, Opila limits the size of his practice to ensure he can dedicate sufficient time and attention to each individual. Maintaining a smaller panel allows for more in-depth discussions, proactive health management, and stronger physician-patient relationships. Other benefits include same- or next-day appointments, longer office visits, and the ability to reach the doctor 24/7 by phone.

Annual Wellness Program

For the annual membership fee, patients receive a comprehensive yearly health assessment that includes advanced diagnostic tests and screenings to give a more complete view of their overall health. Using the results, the doctors provide personalized coaching and tools to help patients make healthier lifestyle choices, prevent disease, and achieve their wellness goals.

MDVIP is a national network of more than 1,300 primary care physicians. The company is ranked one of the 10 Top Executive Wellness Programs by Worth magazine and is recognized by Fortune as one of the Best Workplaces in Healthcare.
