National Bloody Mary Day - Healthy Recipe with EAT by Stacey Weber!

January 1 is strategically recognized as National Bloody Mary Day, and we can’t think of a better way to cure your New Year’s Eve hangover than with a healthy twist on a classic morning cocktail! Created by EAT by Stacey Weber using local spirit brand ROXX Vodka, this delicious Bloody Mary Shrub recipe is the perfect way to kick off 2023.

So, what is a shrub and what health benefits does it provide? A shrub is a vinegar that’s been infused with fruits and herbs. Amazing shrub health benefits can include helping lower blood sugar levels, protecting heart health, killing bacteria and balancing your PH levels!

EAT Shrub Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 20 Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar
  • Jar for shaking
  • Strainer

Directions:

  1. Crush one pound sungold or other cherry tomatoes and add ½ cup sugar
  2. Steep about 20 basil leaves in ½ cup white vinegar overnight
  3. Combine both in a jar, shake well and store in the refrigerator for a week
  4. Strain before drinking
