Grayhawk Golf Club is a top-tier public golf destination featuring two highly rated daily-fee courses, Raptor and Talon. Talon (par 72; 6,973 yards) features a scenic, desert-style layout designed by Gary Panks and David Graham and emphasizes accuracy and dramatic elevation changes. Raptor (par 72; 7,151 yards) is a tour-level track by Tom Fazio known for its wide fairways, strategic bunkering, and challenging greens.

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, located in the untouched Sonoran Desert of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, offers a deluxe golfing experience with two award-winning courses—Cholla and Saguaro. The Cholla course (par 72; 7,225 yards) was designed by Scott Miller and features a classic desert-style layout with clear landing areas, strategic bunkering, and risk-reward opportunities woven through the Sonoran landscape. The course demands both accuracy and thoughtful course management. The Saguaro course (par 71; 6,966 yards) was crafted by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and embraces a walkable, links-style design with wide fairways, minimal earth movement, and greens situated close to the next tees. The layout follows the natural contours of the land, offering a traditional golfing experience that harmonizes with the desert terrain. The renowned courses stand out for their natural setting, free from any development, providing a pure and scenic golf experience.

We-Ko-Pa is one of the only golf courses in all of Arizona that does not use dynamic pricing models and does not trade tee times with third parties. Troon North Golf Club

Offering a quintessential desert golfing experience, Troon North Golf Club features two 18-hole courses—the Monument Course (par 72; 7,039 yards) and the Pinnacle Course (par 71; 7,009 yards). Featuring natural ravines and foothills of the high Sonoran Desert, the courses offer a desert landscape with challenging elevation changes, granite boulders, and scenic views. The Monument Course features signature holes like the 3rd, which has a large boulder in the fairway, while the Pinnacle Course is known for its dramatic 16th hole over water. Both courses cater to various skill levels, have undergone recent renovations, and have been ranked among the best to play in Arizona.

In addition to exceptional golfing, Troon North Golf Club offers amenities like a 2,200-square-foot golf shop and comprehensive practice facilities, including a driving range, putting green, and short game area. Home to WM Phoenix Open—also known as “The Greatest Show on Grass” and “The People’s Open”—the TPC Scottsdale is a premier golf destination featuring two championship courses. Boasting pristine conditions and stunning views of the McDowell Mountains, the courses are known for their challenging but enjoyable play. The Stadium Course (par 71, 7,261 yards), famous for the dramatic 16th hole at the WM Phoenix Open, features a challenging layout with deep bunkers and strategic hazards. The Champions Course (par 71, 7,115 yards) offers a more forgiving design with scenic desert views and meandering fairways. Both courses are set in the Sonoran Desert.

Book a one-off tee time through the TPC Scottsdale website or opt for a TPC pass, which allows for a three-day booking window for either course, includes three accompanied guests per day on either golf course, and complimentary practice balls one hour before the scheduled tee time.

For committed golf enthusiasts, ​the 87 Club at TPC Scottsdale is an exclusive annual pass program and includes a range of benefits. The membership fee for 2025 is $17,500, which includes discounted rates, a 14-day booking window with no time-of-day restrictions, hosting up to three guests per day at specified rates, complimentary access to practice facilities, a locker in the Stadium Clubhouse, walking privileges on the Champions Course, and 15% discounts on food and merchandise.

Talking Stick Golf Club

Talking Stick Golf Club, attached to Talking Stick Resort, features two championship courses also designed by renowned architects Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. The O’odham course (par 70; 7,133 yards) features a links-style design with broad, angular fairways and low-profile, slightly crowned greens that encourage both aerial and ground approaches. The course rewards strategic play and offers a variety of shot-making options. The Piipaash course (par 71; 6,833 yards) presents a more traditional layout with tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides, offering a straightforward style of play that challenges golfers to attack the greens.

Camelback Golf Club

Camelback Golf Club offers 36 holes of championship golf in a scenic parkland setting. The Ambiente course (par 72; 7,225 yards) was designed by Jason Straka and features a modern desert-links style with rolling fairways, native grasses, and striking elevation changes, offering a challenging yet scenic round. The course has a slope rating of 138 and a course rating of 73.9, reflecting its difficulty and design complexity. ​The Padre course (par 72; 6,903 yards) was crafted by Arthur Hills and is known for its traditional parkland style with towering trees, multiple lakes, and strategic bunkering that demand thoughtful shot-making. The course has a slope rating of 130 and a course rating of 72.2, offering a balanced challenge for golfers of all skill levels.

Gainey Ranch Golf Club

The top-rated golf courses here are exclusively available to guests of the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa and private club members. Set against stunning natural scenery, the courses are meant for all skill levels. Choose from three distinct nine-hole courses—Lakes, Dunes, and Arroyo—which can be combined into three different 18-hole configurations. Open to the public, Legend Trail Golf Club is a top-rated course known for its wide fairways, strategic bunkers, and elevated tees. Designed by Rees Jones, the course (par 72; 6,845 yards) is nestled in the Sonoran Desert and features generous fairways, strategic bunkering, and elevated tees.

The Boulders Golf Club

Located in the scenic foothills of the Sonoran Desert, there are two 18-hole championship courses at The Boulders in Scottsdale, both designed by Jay Morrish. The South course (par 71; 6,726 yards) is slightly shorter but equally challenging, featuring over 70 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards on several holes. It provides a picturesque and demanding round of golf amid the desert terrain and is open to the public, as well as members, and guests of The Boulders Resort & Spa. The North course (par 72; 6,811 yards) is private, and offers a challenging layout with undulating fairways, strategic bunkering, and large greens that demand precision. It’s known for its stunning views of Black Mountain and the surrounding desert landscape.

Members enjoy activities like golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, and rock climbing, as well as elegant accommodations and dining.

McCormick Ranch Golf Club

McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers two scenic, 18-hole, tour-tested courses—Palm and Pine—both with views of the iconic Camelback and McDowell mountains. The Palm Course (par 72; 7,044 yards) is known for its picturesque views of surrounding mountains and lakes and features traditional parkland with water hazards on 10 holes. The Phoenician Golf Club

The Phoenician Golf Club features an 18-hole course that highlights the natural beauty of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert (par 71; 4,418 to 6,501 yards) and features a variety of tees for unique play. The Summit Tees (Championship) is 6,518 yards with a course rating of 71.8 and a slope of 129. Junction Tees is 6,003 yards with a course rating of 69.6 and a slope of 124. Switchback Tees is 5,350 yards, with a course rating of 68.2 and a slope of 119. And finally, Trailhead Tees is 4,594 yards and has a course rating of 63.2 and a slope of 105. The course has been completely rebuilt with new greens, tees, fairways, and distinctive flared bunkers, all thoughtfully integrated into a desert-inspired landscape design. Featuring three distinct 9-hole courses—Acacia, Ironwood, and Mesquite—players can combine the three in various 18-hole configurations. Each combination provides a par-72 experience with yardages ranging from approximately 6,913 to 6,976 yards, accommodating golfers of all skill levels. The course is known for its generous fairways, large greens, and strategic bunkering, set against the backdrop of the Sonoran Desert’s rolling terrain and dramatic elevation changes. Notable holes include the signature par-5 9th on the Acacia course, which features water hazards along the left side and a bunker-protected green, offering a challenging finish to the round.
