Artist Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to provide financial support to the dancers at Ballet Arizona, will host its annual Dancers’ Choice fundraiser event on April 1.

For the first time since 2020, Dancers’ Choice will return to Ballet Arizona’s studio theater, Dorrance Theatre, with a silent auction, a staged performance performed entirely by the dancers of Ballet Arizona, as well as a catered reception where attendees will get the chance to mix and mingle with the talent. The performance features excerpts from the company's repertoire, as well as world premieres by company dancers.

The Artist Relief Fund was created in 2013 by former Ballet Arizona dancers Kenna Draxton and Joseph Cavanaugh to assist dancers financially during times of injury, personal hardships, and career transitions, while sharing meaningful relationships that enrich and educate the community.

Since 2013, the Artist Relief Fund has raised over $100,000 for dancers’ school and financial emergencies, has offered the opportunity for young artists to choreograph for a professional company, and has presented over 30 world premieres. During 2019, this fund expanded its assistance to include physical and mental health maintenance for the dancers.
