U.S. Egg Celebrates 31 Years in the Valley with New Secret Menu

Shhh! We know it’s supposed to be a secret, but let us tell you what it’s all about. Breakfast and lunch Valley hotspot, U.S. Egg has always served up a large variety of delicious breakfast and lunch entrees. In celebrating its 31st anniversary, it has rolled out a “secret menu” that you certainly won’t want to miss! Scottsdale.com got the chance to try some of the new items, and we were as impressed with the food as we were with the restaurant.

The Central Scottsdale.com location of U.S. Egg has seen its fair share of changes around its location in the 13 years it has been there. Currently, new condos are being constructed and new businesses are taking up residence, too. But, U.S. Egg stands as a tasty beacon on the Scottsdale landscape, offering reasonably priced entrees for breakfast and lunch coupled with a patriotic and supportive atmosphere that simply makes you proud to support this family-owned establishment. In fact, we were thrilled to find out that a former Navy Seal created the American flags that adorn five of the six U.S. Egg locations in the Valley!

We started off our brunch-y time meal with orange juice and the U.S. Egg’s very own Guatemalan Sunrise coffee. The fabulous coffee and easily rivals any major coffee house brand in town. Our server was the sunniest and sweetest; offering lots of menu insight and a further explanation of the secret menu. Sure, it’s secret, but just ask for it! We loved our secret menu entrees, and we’re certain that you will, too.

We decided to split the Manhattan Skillet and the Southwestern Chicken Melt, giving us the chance to try both a breakfast entrée and a lunch entrée. The Manhattan Skillet was absolute perfection. U.S. Egg is known for its large variety of skillet entrees and it’s easy to see why. This particular skillet featured mild Italian sausage, green peppers, onions and Jack cheese served atop a bed of hash browns, crowned with two eggs and served with a sourdough English muffin. The flavor was fabulous, but even more than that, I personally appreciated that the peppers and onions weren’t overcooked or mushy. All the flavors came together and really popped on this dish. The fact that the English muffin was sourdough was a bonus in my book, too.

Our lunch entrée was the Southwestern Chicken Melt. The fresh chicken breast sandwich featured melted cheddar cheese and a mild green chili sauce served up on a grilled sourdough toast (we really love sourdough toast!) and served with a side. Although the menu states that a side could be fries or coleslaw, there are many side options. We chose fresh fruit, and we loved the fact that it was whole pieces of fruit!
