The Phoenix Dream Center Night of Dreams Gala Raised More Than $400,000

The Phoenix Dream Center held its annual gala at the gorgeous Dream City Church in North Phoenix on March 31. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of high clouds and a setting sun, hundreds of supporters gathered together to enjoy a meal, a night of hope, and to raise the funds necessary to support the vital work of the Phoenix Dream Center.

The Phoenix Dream Center provides services in the areas of human trafficking, aged-out foster care system youth, Thrive foster care, community outreach, church on the street and restored hope. There is a physical facility on the west side of town that houses those in these programs, and also offers educational, employment and other services designed to help those that need it most.

This year’s Dream Center Gala, not only met, but exceeded last year's gala total, raising nearly $400,000. The “auction” style format offered a look at the services that the Phoenix Dream Center provides and then gala attendees would offer up that specific dollar amount to cover that service. Talk about a unique way to conduct a fundraising auction!

The following people in the Phoenix Dream Center were recognized with awards:

  • Mom-Strong Award – Ms. Danielle Hernandez
  • Mom on a Mission Award – Ms. Abril Douglas
  • Built to Last Award – Charmaine Chavez
  • Rising Star Award – Mrs. Bree Hill
  • Can’t Stop Me Now Award – Ms. Marie Chavez

“Thank you ALL again so much for the amazing support that is sure to touch thousands of young lives during the coming year!”

Pastor Tommy Barnett and Brian D Steele

About the Phoenix Dream Center

The Phoenix Dream Center, a volunteer driven nonprofit organization, which exists to serve the homeless, low-income, at risk youth and struggling individuals and families by providing resources, opportunities and supportive services to help them realize their dream of living a self-sufficient life.

Founded in 2006, the Phoenix Dream Center currently serves over 36,000 people each month. It has become best known for two things in the Valley; community outreaches and housing programs. Each week through the various Dream Center Programs, 120 street and nursing home outreaches are conducted with people in need. At each outreach, food, clothing and a message of hope and God's love is shared. Programs provide housing to more than 450 people each night. The housing programs at the Phoenix Dream Center include a Christian-based life recovery program, a program for young women out of sex trafficking including crisis pregnancy, an emergency family housing program, an affordable housing program and a foster care age-out program.
