House of Refuge ‘Chip In’ and Change a Life Event to Be Held at Top Golf November 6
By Lynette Carrington
On any given day approximately 250 homeless individuals call House of Refuge home. House of Refuge is a transitional housing program located in one neighborhood setting on the former Williams Air Force Base in East Mesa. The programming offered includes wrap around social services, a job readiness program, a no-charge donation center, an Early Head Start Program, and a community center designed to assist the needs of the 150 children that live on site. Executive Director of House of Refuge Nancy Marion says, “About 60 percent of the families we serve come from a domestic violence background. Last year we were able to move 91% of the families that entered the House of Refuge program successfully into permanent housing in less than 13 months.”
In order to raise the needed on-going funds to support the House of Refuge program, the nonprofit is holding an inaugural fundraising event called “Chip In” and Change a Life at Topgolf Gilbert. The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6th. The entire community is invited to purchase tickets, come out and enjoy a fun evening at Topgolf and enjoy a delicious catered prime rib meal, drinks and dessert. Through the generosity of the Arizona Ford Dealers someone may go home with a brand new 2015 Ford Mustang during the Hole-In-One challenge! You can try your luck at a 50/50 raffle or place the winning bid on one of the many silent auction items.
Come join the community as House of Refuge raises funds to elevate homelessness in our community.Tickets for “Chip In” and Change a Life are $125 per individual, $65 for a spectator package, or you can buy out an entire bay and bring your friends for $750. All attendees will receive a fully catered prime rib dinner provided by Topgolf. Only 200 tickets will be available for the event. You can be one of the lucky attendees by purchasing your tickets online here. “It’s going to be power-packed, fun-filled evening,” explains Marion. “Currently we have 16 community leaders/sponsors that have already ‘chipped-in’ to help this be a successful fundraising event for House of Refuge and the homeless families we serve.”
