Craft 64 Showcases Outstanding Beers from College Street Brewing at Special Event November 21
Author: Lynette Carrington
Craft 64 has established itself as a premier location for local craft beers and salads, sandwiches and artisan wood fired pizzas made from quality, locally sourced ingredients. It is the pride and pleasure of owner and operator James Swann to bring a slice of the good life to his customers at Craft 64 and 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, he’ll be having a beer event with a collection of sour beers brewed at College Street Brewing.
Swann and the staff at Craft 64 are proud to present unique beers, including this special event collection from College Street Brewing. “It’s all sours,” states Swann. “College Street Brewing is out in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They’ve won countless medals at the Great American Beer Festival. But because they are way up in Lake Havasu, they have limited distribution and they don’t really get the respect they deserve. Their beers are wonderful. The medal that I won at the Great American Beer Festival was with a beer brewed at College Street.” The medal that Swann won for Craft 64 was for a beer called “Brother Dewey’s Date Night,” a strong winter ale brew made with dates, coriander, nutmeg, Belgian candy sugar and organic Bisbee honey. Swann is extremely intuitive when it comes to creating incredibly unique beers with unforgettable flavors.
No reservation is necessary to attend the College Street Brewing event. “We’re going to have six different College Street sours on tap,” Swann explains. “One is a blueberry and then there is cherry, standard blonde sour, a hibiscus and we’ll have a few surprises as well!”
Whether you go for the food and stay for the beer or vice versa, you’ll be glad that you visited Craft 64. Cleverly named for the fact that there are 64 ounces in a growler of beer (and yes, they do fill growlers), Craft 64 effectively merges at the intersection of gastropub, wine bar and artisan pizzeria. Each day the lunch special at Craft 64 includes a personal-sized “pizzetta” with one topping or a fresh salad. The lunch special comes a soda, Pelligrino, iced tea, beer or wine for only $12.
